The EUVEGE - project supports Georgia in the complex modernization of the vocational education and training sector (VET) and development and establishment of a sound labour market policy, under the motto:

“BETTER SKILLS
FOR BETTER JOBS”
.


The project’s main objective is to reduce poverty and to enhance social cohesion in Georgia. It is expected that the project's activities will have an appreciable impact upon the poverty indicators and the unemployment rate.

Successful transition from training to employment has always been a challenge. Moreover, today we have to face the repercussions of the economic crisis, affecting the labour market in many countries. As a consequence, the mismatch of skills and the jobs available on the labour market has to be addressed in a comprehensive and coherent way.
EU Technical Assistance to VET and  Employment Reforms in Georgia
The EUVEGE-project is funded by the European Union with a budget of 2,78 Million Euro. The project’s duration is 36 months.

Direct beneficiaries are the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES) and the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MoLHSA)  - the final beneficiaries are the people of Georgia.

The EUVEGE-project provides technical assistance and support in skills development and in managing/ monitoring policies, evaluation of reform activities and human resources management.
